A Child Psychotherapist has specialised knowledge, skills, and training in working with families and children who are experiencing difficulties in their day-to-day life. A range of approaches are used in working with children and young people and their families. With children, play, drawing and art are used alongside talking to help make sense of sad, angry, painful or confusing feelings and thoughts.
Child Psychotherapy Assessment and Treatment is for children, young people and their whānau who may be experiencing a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties including:
